What is up people! BlackStar here. Welcome to the Monday Game Theory, where every Monday, we take one game or even the entire franchise and try to find a hidden reason behind it! Joining us today is my new partner Rising Dawn!
Hi everyone! It's good to see you all again!
She is going to be here, adding in every once in a while. She's trying to learn the ropes so that she can take over herself for a short time. So, let us all sit back and enjoy the show!
So, a quick explanation about the game. "Among The Sleep" is a unique, first person puzzle game where you play as a 1 year old baby that ventures through many worlds, trying to save his..."mother." Yes, the quotations are needed because it's not really explained her relationship with her child. Anyway, throughout the game, you are continuously stalked by three monsters which stumped me. But Rising here found out about them and help me explain them to you guys! Here you go guy!
The first monster that is seen in the game is a man holding an umbrella. He only appears for a second before disappearing for the rest of the game. He represents the child's father, who apparently wasn't there for much of the child's life.
Then there the forest monster, who represents the child's mother. At the end of the game, it's revealed that she suffers from alcohol abuse, causing her to have rages that turn her into a monster in the child's mind.
The last monster is a living coat, who may represent the Social Worker in the came who come to take the child to a safer place. The teddy bear was given to the child as a present.
So all of this is really the child's way of deal with separation from his Mother.
Yes. It is. He's trying to comprehend what is going on around him. The items her collects in the game are all memories that he shared with his mother.
Oh! That explains a lot. Okay. I guess that wraps up this theory
I guess it does! See you guys tomorrow! This is Rising Dawn, logging off
And this is Black, logging off! Peace!
