What is up people! BlackStar here and welcome to my Thursday Anime Review! This week, I will be doing an anime that I should have done last week, but I was really busy, so I apologize. I will be doing this anime review differently because Kill La Kill! is a complex anime, so just bare with me. So, let's get started!
Kill la Kill is set at Honnōji Academy, a fictional high school in Tokyo Bay set in post-apocalyptic Japan that is dominated by its fearsome student council, led by Satsuki Kiryūin. The council members wear special uniforms called Goku Uniforms that grant them superhuman abilities, which they use to oppress the rest of the school's students and staff. Ryūko Matoi, a student wielding half a scissor-shaped longsword, transfers to Honnōji Academy in search of the owner of the other half of the scissor blade, the person who killed her father. Defeated by the council after interrogating Satsuki over the killer's identity and whereabouts, Ryūko comes across a sentient sailor uniform she names Senketsu, who puts himself on Ryūko. Using Senketsu's special abilities, Ryūko stands up against Satsuki and her henchmen, the Elite Four , to liberate Honnōji Academy from their iron grip and find out the truth behind her father's murder.
This is Ryuko Matoi, the protagonist of the series and the main hero overall. She transferred to Honnōji Academy searching for the twin of her red Scissor Blade and the person who used it to murder her father. It is later revealed that she was who supposedly died after a failed experiment to fuse her with Life Fibers and is the younger daughter of Ragyō Kiryūin and sister of Satsuki Kiryūin.
This is Mako Mankanshoku is the best friend of Ryūko Matoi and tritagonist of Kill la Kill. She is a goofy girl who attends Honnōji Academy. She's more of a supporting character that's just there for comedy relief from time to time.
This is where I'm going to stop with the characters and the plot. It's a gookd show and I don't want to spoil to much. So, let's move onto...
Animation: The animation is good. For once in a long time, IT'S NOT LIKE BLEACH AT ALL.
Music: The music is great! It keeps you on the edge of your seat!
Plot: The plot is solid. The anime doesn't really stray from it. AND THERE ARE NO FILLERS
Character Relationships: The show is mainly around a murder, but the friendship between Ryuko and Mako.
OVERALL GRADE: 9/10 A FOR ANIME SWORD THING
Well, that's all for now! Sorry if it was a little rushed, but I'm a little busy. See you guys next week! This is BlackStar, logging off!
NEXT WEEK!: THE VIEWERS DECIDE WHAT I SHALL DO! THIS WEEK'S CHOICES: EIKEN OR KILL ME BABY!
